Playing sport and taking part in regular exercise is good for your health, but can sometimes result in injury.

Some sports injuries are considered traumatic in nature e.g. a bad tackle playing football resulting in knee ligament damage, others may be overuse injuries, which runners are prone to, while others may be degenerative in nature (wear and tear) e.g. a recreational golfer with an arthritic knee.
